Cílem této bakalářské práce je vymezit koncept digitální malby, její požadavky na technické a programové vybavení počítače, a následně popsat různé nástroje a techniky, kterých digitální malba využívá. První kapitola se zabývá pojmem estetiky jak v tradičním, tak i v počítačovém umění, popisuje historický přehled vývoje digitálního umění a zavadí koncept metamodernismusu v umění. Druhá kapitola je zaměřená na malířské techniky (podle uměleckých směrů), které se používají v tradiční a digitální malbě a jsou podporované příklady. Otázky vyjádření emocí prostřednictvím digitálních nástrojů, psychologie vnímání obrazů a role počítače v procesu tvorby jsou rovněž podrobně popsané v rámci druhé kapitoly. Třetí kapitola se týká metody nefotorealistického zobrazování digitálního obrazu ve stylu abstraktní stylizace. Na tomto základě vytvořen manuál pro začátečníci editorů Stylize, který je také součástí třetí kapitoly.

Devoted Soldier of Eclecticism

My bachelor’s thesis Devoted soldier of eclecticism is a series of paintings and objects. The main theme of exhibition which should be based on these artifacts is a polemic about meaning of metamodernism in contemporary art. Conceptual approach to artistic reference is essential for all pieces. I am often depicting mundane objects (boots, pigeons, air baloons) enriched by philosophical or spiritual meanings. To create a tension between simple and metaphysical, I am using simple compositions and naive painting techniques. There is usually some concrete situation or polemic happening in my paintings. If paintings would be philosophical concepts, objects would represent how human beings (anthropomorphised swords) approach these often complicated phenomena.

A system for classifying descriptions of society in the era of fall of postmodernism

The thesis deals with the comparison and classification of descriptive theories that seek to describe the state of Western society and culture in the 21st century. In this context, the most frequently invoked term is "postmodernism", which according to many thinkers has already lost its ability to describe society or, according to others, has never even truly described it. This paper is concerned with those theories that are supposed to be either the successors to postmodernism or its surrogate. The research question of the thesis is whether it is possible to find points of contact between the chosen theories, on the basis of which they could be sorted into hyperonymic groups (meta-descriptions) as to map the contemporary thinking about the historical stage of the West in the 21st century. A classification of this kind is potentially fruitful for creating a map of contemporary modes of thinking about society, and the categories delineated should prove to be inherently open for quickly linking emerging theories, or those not included in this thesis, to similar descriptions of society so that their findings can be compared. Deconstructing the Fantastic World of Wes Anderson - The Philosophy Behind the Artificial Surface of a Contemporary Director

1 Abstract The subject of this thesis is Wes Anderson's cinematic world. The analysis draws an auteur study of this contemporary director in order to discover what sensibility his cinema demonstrates. Anderson's sentiment causes a reinterpretation of lost values and generates specific thinking, which allow it to be considered as a mediation of his own filmic "philosophy." The backbone theory consists of philosophy, in general, and of postmodernism and metamodernism, specifically. The three postmodern elements to be discussed are the meta-cinematic techniques, pastiche and nostalgia prevalent in Anderson's oeuvre. However, his unique employment of these features transgresses the anticipated postmodern tone and creates a new structure of feeling characterized by metamodern hopefulness. Therefore, Anderson uses postmodern means to create a metamodern sensibility that signalizes sincerity. Focusing on the three above-mentioned attributes of Anderson's filmography in both a postmodern and metamodern context helps to deconstruct his highly visual and thematically patterned cinema in order to reveal where the particular sensibility of the director stems from.
